I'm giving a talk on Tuesday. There's a B2B networking thing that morning — a room full of small business owners who are pretty much exactly who I want to work with.
And I realized I had no idea what to hand them.
So I opened Claude and wrote:
Act as a small business owner. Imagine we just met at a B2B mingle. I've attached my presentation. Based on this, create a one-page document I can print and leave with you; something that tells you who I am, what I do, and what to do next if you want to keep going. Ask me any clarifying questions before you start.
It asked three questions. I answered. Ten minutes later I had a leave-behind I'd been putting off for months.
That prompt worked because I finally asked the right question.
Not "how do I make a flyer" — but "if you just met me, what would make you want to keep talking?"
And that's the thing I've been skipping.
I've given plenty of talks. People come up afterward, tell me they learned something, we connect on LinkedIn, everybody feels good about it.
And then…that's kind of it.
Because I've spent a LOT of time getting better at the thing I sell. Building better classes. Better systems. Better ways to teach AI so a small business owner can actually use it.
I've spent considerably less time building the path that gets someone from:
"That was really useful."
to
"I want Jamie to teach me how to do that."
That's a different system. And apparently it's one I needed to build.
Tuesday will be the first real test of it.

Luna says no more working. So I guess we’re done.

P.S. If you're curious what "going next" looks like with me — The AI Lab is where I teach this stuff live.
